How many High-Volume Agent (HVA) connections can I set up through a single Fivetran Proxy Agent, and what should I consider when scaling?

Answer
A Proxy Agent can support multiple connections. However, we recommend a maximum of 30 connections per Proxy Agent. The effective limit depends on the resources available on the Proxy Agent host, such as CPU, memory, and network throughput, as well as the number and volume of concurrent connections.
Follow these best practices when scaling:
- Monitor CPU, memory, and network utilization as you add HVAs.
- Watch for connection delays or errors, such as
CLIENT_WAITING_FOR_AGENTorAGENT_ERROR. These may indicate that the Proxy Agent is resource-constrained. - For high-throughput workloads or greater stability, distribute HVAs across multiple Proxy Agents.
