Why Do PC_FIVETRAN_* Objects Appear in My Snowflake Environment?
Question
Why do PC_FIVETRAN_DB and related role objects appear in my Snowflake account if they weren't created through my Terraform or API configuration? Can I remove them if no active Fivetran configuration uses them?
Environment
Destination: Snowflake
Answer
Snowflake automatically creates PC_FIVETRAN_* objects when you connect to Fivetran through Snowflake Partner Connect, including during trial onboarding. These objects may include a database, warehouse, user, and role. The objects remain in your Snowflake account if you later change the destination configuration or remove the associated connections.
You can remove them if no active Fivetran configuration or other application depends on them. First, confirm that:
- No Fivetran destination uses the associated database, warehouse, user, or role.
- The roles haven't been granted to other active users or roles.
- No other applications depend on the objects.
