Error: F_JD21AE Incorrect Username or Password Was Specified
Issue
After you change a location property, such as switching from username and password authentication to key-pair authentication, HVR jobs fail with the following error:
F_JD21AE: Unable to connect to Snowflake database '<database_name>' on server '<account>.snowflakecomputing.com'. DBMS error [Incorrect username or password was specified].
The location displays the updated properties, but existing jobs have not picked up the change.
Environment
- HVR 6
- Any source or target location, not only Snowflake.
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
Test the updated location:
i. In the HVR UI, go to the relevant location.
ii. Click Test to confirm that the new credentials or settings are valid.
Reactivate the channel to apply the updated location properties:
i. Go to the Channel Details page.
ii. Click Activate Replication.
iii. In the Activate Replication dialog, under Replication Components, select Jobs.
iv. Click OK to reactivate.
Recreate any Compare and Refresh jobs for the channel.
Cause
This issue occurs when you update a location property while an HVR job is running. HVR jobs cache location settings while they are running. Changes are only applied after you reactivate the channel with the Jobs component selected.
