Why Does the TARGETING_KEYWORD_REPORT
and KEYWORD_REPORT
Data Differ From Amazon Ads?
Question
Why is there a mismatch between the data in the TARGETING_KEYWORD_REPORT
and KEYWORD_REPORT
tables and the data I see in Amazon Ads?
Environment
Connector: Amazon Ads
Answer
The Amazon Ads API organizes performance data into separate reports, with request parameters determining whether you receive targeting or keyword records. Fivetran mirrors this behavior by syncing the reports individually. For more information, see the Amazon documentation on targeting reports.
However, in Amazon Ads, data is reported in a single view that does not separate targets from keywords. If you only review one report in your destination, you will see incomplete data compared to Amazon Ads.
To match Amazon Ads totals in your destination, you must join the TARGETING_KEYWORD_REPORT
and KEYWORD_REPORT
tables.
