Apple App Store Setup Guide
Follow our setup guide to connect Apple App Store to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Apple App Store to Fivetran, your Apple account must have the correct roles assigned based on the data you plan to sync.
Role | Data Access | What This Grants Access To |
---|---|---|
Admin | App Analytics reports | Generate and download analytics data using the App Store Connect API. |
Finance | Sales and Financial reports | Access sales and finance reports from the Reports and Sales & Trends pages. |
TIP: We recommend assigning the Admin role to the API key user. This role includes the permissions of the Finance role and ensures full access to all supported data types. For detailed information, see Apple App Store permissions policy.
NOTE: After creating or modifying an Apple account, it can take up to 48 hours for Apple to fully provision the account. During this time, some reports may not be available in Fivetran.
Setup instructions
Create API key in Apple App Store
Log in to your Apple App Store Connect dashboard.
Click Users and Access, then go to the Integrations tab.
Click the Add(+) button.
Fill in the Generate API Key form and click Generate.
NOTE: Assign the Admin role to your API key user if you plan to sync analytics reports. For other use cases, the Finance role is sufficient. See Apple App Store permissions policy for more details.
Make a note of the Issuer ID and Key ID of the generated key, and download the API Key file. You will need them to configure Fivetran.
Find your Vendor Number
In the Apple App Store Connect dashboard, go to the Reports page.
Find the Vendor Number and make a note of it. You will need it to configure Fivetran.
NOTE: If you have several accounts, retrieve and record the Vendor Number for each account you intend to sync.
Finish Fivetran configuration
In the connection setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
Enter the Issuer ID and Key ID of the API key you created.
Upload the API Key file you downloaded.
Click + Add to enter the Vendor Number you found in the Vendor Id field. You can add multiple Vendor Numbers if needed.
NOTE: We use Vendor Numbers to filter Sales/Finance reports data.
Select your Apps sync mode:
- Choose Sync all apps to sync data for all apps under your Apple account.
- Choose Sync specific apps to choose which apps to sync.
NOTE: Analytics data will be filtered based on your apps selection.
In the Historical Sync Time Frame drop-down, select how many months of historical data you'd like to include in the initial sync.
Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Apple App Store data.
