Ceridian Dayforce Setup Guide Lite Private Preview
Follow our setup guide to connect Ceridian Dayforce to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Ceridian Dayforce to Fivetran, you need
- a Ceridian Dayforce account with API access.
- a user role with access to the Read Data subfeature.
If you don't have API access, contact Ceridian Dayforce's support team.
Setup instructions
Find credentials
- Log in to your Ceridian Dayforce account.
- Make a note of your client namespace and client host (for example,
test123.dayforcehcm.com
). You will need them to configure Fivetran.
Grant access to RESTful services and fields
On the navigation menu, select System Admin > Roles.
Go to the Web Services Field-Level Access tab.
Expand RESTful Services.
Select the checkbox for all the RESTful services and their fields that you want to sync.
Expand a RESTful service to view its complete list of fields.
- You must select the checkbox for the XRefCode field for each RESTful service you want to sync.
- Ensure that the XRefCode field contains no special characters or spaces. If you need help cleaning up the field, contact Ceridian Dayforce Support.
Finish Fivetran configuration
- In the connection setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
- Enter the Username and Password of the Ceridian Dayforce user account that you want Fivetran to use to access your data.
- Enter your Client Namespace and Client Host you found in Step 1.
- Go to your Ceridian Dayforce account and verify whether you selected the checkbox for all the RESTful services and their fields that you want to sync. This ensures Fivetran has the necessary access to your data.
- Return to the connection setup form in the Fivetran dashboard and set the Confirm access to all necessary RESTful services and fields toggle to ON.
- (Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected in the Select an existing agent drop-down menu. To use a different agent, select the agent of your choice, and then select the same agent for your destination.
- Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Ceridian Dayforce data.
