Why can't I view records for a date before the initial sync?

Answer

Google Ads tables store snapshots of the current state of records. During the initial sync, Fivetran captures the state of each record at that time. We don't retrieve previous versions of those records.

For most records, the Google Ads API doesn't provide a true last-modified timestamp. When no timestamp is available, we use the time we synced the record as the updated_at value. As a result, the oldest updated_at values in your destination correspond to the initial sync date.

This is expected behavior. Historical record states aren’t available through the Google Ads API, so you can’t view records as they existed before the initial sync.
