Warning: Duplicate Custom Field Names

Question

While testing the Jira connection, I see the Duplicate custom field names warning.

What does this warning mean? What should I do?

Answer

Duplicate custom field names appears when there is more than one column with the same name. Fivetran reads these columns as duplicates because of our naming conventions.

For example, Fivetran will read both Actual Result and Actual result as actual_result. As a result, these fields are excluded from the sync.

There are two ways to resolve this issue.

Option 1

1. In Jira, rename duplicate fields. For example, Actual Result can stay the same, while Actual result is renamed to Actual Result_1.
2. In Fivetran, run a historical re-sync on the connector to back-fill the data for the renamed column.

Option 2

1. In Jira, delete duplicate fields you don't need.
2. In Fivetran, click Dismiss Warning.
