Can I Purge Files in Universal Content Manager (UCM)?
Question
Can I purge files in Universal Content Manager (UCM) to manage storage, or does Fivetran purge them automatically?
Environment
Connector: Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications - FSCM (ERP & SCM)
Answer
By default, Oracle stores files in UCM for 90 days (FILE_EXPIRY_DAYS = 90) and automatically purges them on day 91. To reduce file retention, update FILE_EXPIRY_DAYS in the BICC job. Supported values range from 1 hour to 90 days.
We recommend that you avoid immediately deleting files from UCM because we rely on the previous sync's Active-PK file to detect deletes and perform incremental loads. In addition, retain files for at least 2-14 days. Setting retention below 2 days may trigger a historical re-sync, which can increase sync time and Monthly Active Rows (MAR).
During each sync, we delete our own files that are more than 3 days old and no longer needed. We always retain files from the latest successful sync for delete detection and troubleshooting.
