Error: RuntimeException…Does Not Have Access to the X Ads API

Issue

While setting up an X Ads connection, the setup tests fail with the following error:

RuntimeException: The client application making this request does not have access to X Ads API

Answer

You may need to wait for X to approve your Ads API application. You will receive an acceptance email from X regarding the application. Learn more in this X developer community post

Cause

The X application does not have access to the X Ads API. This is a prerequisite for Step 3 of the X Ads connector setup guide.
