Workday Adaptive Planning Setup Guide Private Preview
Follow our setup guide to connect Workday Adaptive Planning to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Workday Adaptive Planning to Fivetran, you need:
- A Workday Adaptive Planning account with access to the required data and API
- Your Adaptive instance code
- The list of reports, accounts, versions, and other data you want to sync
Setup instructions
In the connection setup form, enter your chosen Destination schema name.
Enter your Login (username) and Password for your Workday Adaptive Planning account.
Click Run connection test to verify your credentials and connectivity.
After a successful connection test, select your Instance from the dropdown.
Click + Add report.
Enter a unique Destination table name for the custom report.
Enter a name that is identifiable with the report for referencing in the future.
Select one of the following Version sync strategies:
- SYNC_ALL_AND_NEW_VERSIONS: Sync all current and future versions.
- SYNC_SELECT_VERSIONS: Manually select one or more versions to sync. If you select this option, you must specify the versions in the Versions dropdown list.
(Optional) Select one or more Accounts to include in the report.
- Set the Include descendants toggle to ON to include all descendant accounts in the report. Set this toggle to OFF if you only want to include the selected account in the report.
(Optional) Select Levels to filter the data, or leave blank to include all.
(Optional) Select Dimensions to use as a part of primary key for the report data.
(Optional) Select the Timespan start month and year for the report:
- Month: Select the starting month for the report data.
- Year: Select the starting year for the report data.
This time span applies to all the versions selected. If it's out of bound of a versions' start or end date, then the API returns data from the actual start date of the version.
(Optional) Set the Include Empty Rows toggle to ON to include rows where row value are zeroes or blanks. Set the toggle OFF to omit such rows.
(Optional) Select the Currency to use in the report.
Setup tests
Fivetran performs the following Workday Adaptive Planning connection tests:
- The Validating adaptive credentials test validates the Workday Adaptive Planning credentials you provided in the setup form.
- The Validating report parameters test checks that each report has a unique table name, at least one account and, if required, one version selected. Table names must be unique.
