Facebook Ads Warning: Cannot Select - Metadata Sync Disabled
While selecting tables in the Schema tab, you may notice that some *_HISTORY
tables are grayed out with the following warning:
Cannot select - Metadata sync disabled
Find out why this warning appears and how to enable metadata syncing.
What causes the Metadata sync disabled
warning?
The *_HISTORY
tables contain metadata and capture versions of the objects as they are updated. For more information, see our Facebook metadata tables documentation.
You can only include these tables in your connection schema if you have explicitly enabled metadata syncing while setting up your connection. Hence, this warning appears when you try to select *_HISTORY
tables in the Schema tab, but the Sync all metadata toggle is set to OFF in your connection setup form.
How to enable metadata syncing
To resolve this issue, do the following:
- In Fivetran, go to your Facebook Ads connection page.
- Select the Setup tab.
- Click Edit connection.
- Set the Sync all metadata toggle to ON.
- Click Save & Test.
After saving, you can include the *_HISTORY
tables in your connection schema.
Metadata tables may contribute to rate limits more than others. For help avoiding Facebook rate limit errors, see our Reduce Facebook API Rate Limit Errors documentation.
