February 2025

Effective February 7, 2025 we use a new February 2025 schema. Review the latest ERD to better understand the schema changes.

We are updating the connector schema to improve data management.

You should review the changes and update your downstream queries if necessary. Failing to do so may lead to missing or incomplete data in your data pipelines.

November 2024

The Slack connector now supports the Hybrid Deployment model. For more information, see our setup instructions.

September 2024

We have made the following improvements to the connector:

Added table re-sync support. Previously, we only supported connector-level re-syncs.
Event-based tables and tables with a retention period at the source don't support this feature.
You can now select and deselect tables to be synced on the Schema tab of the connection details page in your Fivetran dashboard.

June 2024

October 2023

We have changed the connector type of our Slack connector from Lite to Standard. New connections created on or after November 1, 2023, use a new schema. As part of this upgrade, we have made the following improvements and schema changes:

We have updated our sync strategy for the conversations.history and conversations.replies endpoints. We now sync all the conversations from both endpoints into the MESSAGE table and its child tables:
- MESSAGE_BLOCK
- MESSAGE_BLOCK_ELEMENT
- MESSAGE_REACTION
- MESSAGE_REACTION_USER
- MESSAGE_REPLY_USER
- MESSAGE_FILE
- MESSAGE_ATTACHMENT
Previously, we synced the data into the MESSAGE and MESSAGE_REPLY tables and their child tables.
We have added the following new tables:
- CHAT_PERMALINK
- PIN
- REMOTE_FILE
- REMOTE_FILE_CHANNEL
- TEAM_BILLING
- TEAM_PREFERENCE
We have renamed the following tables:
- USERGROUP table to USER_GROUP
- USERGROUP_PREFS_CHANNEL table to USER_GROUP_PREFS_CHANNEL
- USERGROUP_PREFS_GROUP table to USER_GROUP_PREFS_GROUP
- USERGROUP_USER table to USER_GROUP_USER
We have added three new columns to the USERS table:
- locale
- profile_api_app_id
- profile_bot_id
This schema change applies to both existing and new connections.

September 2023

You can now configure your Slack connector using the Fivetran REST API. This feature is available only for Free, Standard, Enterprise, and Business Critical accounts.
