Why Is My Facebook Ads Sync Slow or Delayed?
Discover the key factors that lead to slow or delayed Facebook Ads syncs and how to configure your connection for optimal performance.
Common causes of slow or delayed Facebook Ads syncs
Large volumes of metadata
Syncing large volumes of metadata may result in longer sync times. If you want to sync only your report data and avoid syncing metadata, do the following:
- In Fivetran, go to your Facebook Ads connector page.
- Select the Setup tab.
- Click Edit connection.
- Set the Sync all metadata toggle to OFF.
- Click Save & Test.
API rate limit errors
If you often encounter errors or warnings regarding Facebook's API rate limit, you may subsequently experience slow or delayed syncs. You can avoid these errors by switching to OAuth authentication and reducing your connector's sync frequency. To learn more, see How Can I Reduce Facebook API Rate Limit Errors?.
Data from unnecessary accounts
Syncing data from inactive or unnecessary accounts may result in longer sync times. To specify the accounts you want to include in your syncs, do the following:
- In Fivetran, go to your Facebook Ads connector page.
- Select the Setup tab.
- Click Edit connection
- In the Accounts sync mode drop-down menu, select Sync specific accounts.
- In the Accounts field, select only the accounts from which you want to sync data.
- Click Save & Test.
Facebook latency issues
When Facebook experiences latency issues natively, you may encounter warnings about the latency and experience a slow or delayed sync. If we're unable to fetch the data, we will automatically try to fetch the data again, so you don't need to take any action.
